A half day canoe or kayak hire trips will see you starting from the small village of Glasbury-on-Wye, paddling approximately 5 miles downstream to Hay-on-Wye (the famous town of books).
Your day will begin by arriving at our Canoe Hire Centre, where we will sign you in and equip you with a buoyancy aid & paddle. Once you and your group are ready, you will be transported down to the starting point in Glasbury-on-Wye. Here our experienced staff will give you a short brief about the river and basic paddling techniques to see you through, before laucnhing your and your boats on the water.
The half day trip is a leisurely journey downstream towards the collection point Hay-on-Wye. Along the way you will encounter a few shallow rapids as well as a variety of local wildlife such as: ducks, swans, herons and even fishermen 🙂 Once you arrive at the collection point, one of our hire team will collect you and transport you and the equipment back to the canoe hire centre.
