At Black Mountain Activities we have been hiring canoes and kayaks on the river Wye since 1992 and the centre has a great amount of knowledge and experience
of the River Wye. Our canoe hire is available from April until the end of September, subject to river levels.
We have sit-on kayaks which carry one person or the classic open canoe's which will carry two persons (or two adults and two small children).
All canoe hire is on the River Wye - Mid Wales. You can hire canoes and sit-on kayaks from half day (Glasbury on Wye to Hay on Wye) or up to a five day "full on" canoe expeditions (from Glasbury to Tintern Abbey on the edge of the forest of Dean).
A full days canoe trip will take you from Glasbury
to Whitney and normally takes 5 hours with
a lunch stop at Hay on Wye or a picnic on the side of the river.
Canoe
collection service is free of charge on half day & full day's hire.
Parking is also free of charge for costumers at Black Mountain Centre. |

Black mountain hires canoes and sit-on kayaks for half day, full day and up to 7 days, half day canoe hire is from Glasbury to Hay which is 5 miles and takes around 2.5 hours, a full day if to Whitney on Wye a total distance od 10 miles, stopping at Hay for Lunch.
At Black Mountain we also offer mountain bike hire as well as other activities such as Gorge Walking, Caving, Rock Climbing, Clay Shooting, Archery, Orienteering, Hill Walking, High Level Ropes and Zip Wire, Raft building, White Water Rafting, Climbing and Abseiling Wall, Kayaking instruction, Canoe taster days, Canoe Star tests, Land Caring and Team building events.
We also have a great venue for conferences or team meetings
